Drive along the panorama route

There is a famous and loved route trough Mpumalanga in South Africa, called the panorama route, this route has a lot of incredible sightings and the most popular route to take will be the R532, with all the incredible stops on the way, a very spectacular drive with the following hotspots to stop.

Blyde river canyon & three rondavels.

The three rondavels, an incredible outlook on a natural wonder, these three round, and slightly pointed mountain tops are very similar to the traditional “rondavels” this is the South african word for the traditional homesteads made with local materials. This view is just spectacular as on one side you can look out over the Blyde river canyon, this is the third largest green canyon of the world. Catch a glimpse of the klein Drakensbergen. The view is incredible so definitely a must visit!!

Bourke’s luck potholes

These bizar natural water features hewn by centuries of water are definitely an icon, they’re a result of decades of whirling waters which has caused water erosion over a time, where the Treur river meets the Blyde river. This results in incredible round holes in the rocks, which is wonderful to see. You can walk above it with a metal bridge.

Hike all the way up in the clouds, trough the misty rain forest for the most amazing view. As you can imagine this is quit a long and steep walk, but a 100% worth it!
