Byron bay in Australia the place thats known for it’s chilled and layback surf culture. The place where you go to relax and destress from your busy life. Or if you’re traveling and just want to experience this crazy beautiful town. Byron bay stands for a sustainable living with lots of vegan/vegetarian food and plastic free stores. (unfortunately not every store yet) Also if you are planning to take some surf lessons this is the perfect place. The waves are very mellow here and good for learning. In the wintertimes byron can get quite cold but in the summer it’s can get nice and warm.

The cape byron Lighthouse walk with sunrise.
For the early risers, this is the best spot to watch the sunrise, a favorite for both locals and visitors just in front of the light house, the view over the ocean is incredible, and if your lucky you maybe see some whales or dolphins. The best walk is if you stick near the beach, go all the way to the pass beach, walk op from there, trough wategos beach and eventually the lighthouse park. It’s a long walk but very worth it! (You can also just drive up to the light house by car). For our not so early risers, the sunset is also very nice from up here.
Scuba dive or snorkel at Julian Rocks
Julian rocks is a protected reserve forthe gentle grey nurse sharks, and because of that also a perfect spot to see lots of sea turtles and 500 different species of fish! Also no experience needed, you can book an intro dive or a snorkeling tour. And for the more experienced people they have a certified dives.
Minyon Falls
Just a 45 minutes drive out of Byron Bay, you will find yourself in the most incredible nature, surrounded by rainforest and the sound of a waterfall dropping, what can ever be better? The waterfall plunges 100 meters over cliffs that were once part of the tweed volcano. You can choose out 2 different walks, one 2 hour return walk or for the sporty ones a 4-5 hour minyon loop walking track. Such an hidden gem close to byron. Can’t think of any reason not to take a look at this magical place.
Cumbebin swamp nature reserve
Just 10 minutes from the centre of byron you will find this beautiful boardwalk. This swamp is full of paperbark trees and a sheltered haven for frogs and special birds. This boardwalk with a seating lookout over the wetlands is perfect for a little stroll or a picnic and to escape from the centre busyness.
