Beaches in NSW to visit soon

For beach lovers that are planning their trip to NSW Australia are in for a treat, as this state is full of amazing beaches, from tropical beaches whit whitest sand in the world to raw nature that will amaze you, NSW has it all. 

During our traveling the last couple of months we saw some of the most breathtaking beaches, so we’ve made up a list with our favorites. 

Beaches to go to in NSW


Wategos beach - Byron Bay

Just next to the main beaches of Byron bay you wil find Wategos beach, this beach is protected by the head land which makes it a perfect beach to go for a swim, and an awesome spot to go out for a paddle and catch some byron waves. Crystal clear water with beautiful nature all around, go for a walk between the rocks at low tide.

Kingscliff beach - kingscliff

Close to Byron bay, you will find the beautiful kingscliff beach with a river connected to the ocean, calm warm waters and some good waves. A popular and perfect spot to spend the weekend, with a relaxed vibe.

Black rock - bundjalung national park

to get here, you need to drive a few miles trough a beautiful forest, connected to a campsite you will find Black rock beach, a beautiful quiet and empty beach with big black rocks on the dunes, sand that looks like chocolate, and waves that look wild. A perfect spot to let go of all your thoughts and be with nothing else but nature.

Pebbly beach - Crescent head

The raw and pure Pebbly beach in Crescent head, probably not the best for a  day of laying on the beach or going for a swim, but sure one of my favorites that amazed me with its looks. The water looks wild and the rocks make it even more impressive. Definitely worth a look when your passing trough, and soak up the salt in the air.

Flynn’s beach - Port Macquarie 

Flynns beach in Port Macquarie is a busy and popular beach, with great waves and beautiful water to swim in. Nestled between the rocky headlands this beach has good protection of the wind and that makes it next to that it’s a great beach to spend the day, a good spot to learn surfing.

Sawtell beach & lagoon 

Next to Coffs Harbour, little bit unknown and not very touristic, but for that reason even more beautiful. Sawtell has an amazing beach with lots of marine life in the waters. And you will spot the dolphins here almost every day. Connected to the ocean there is a lagoon, that stretches out for meters long. The water is very clear and blue what gives you a perfect opportunity to go snorkeling. Relax and enjoy the calmness of this beautiful coastal town.

Fingal beach - Port Stephens

Port Stephens is known for being a blue water wonderland with the most incredible beaches,one of our favorites was the glorious white sand beach at Fingal bay, with blue clear water thats not even as cold as you would think. You can go for a walk along the beach with low tide and visit Shark island, or just soak up some sunlight.

Iris Moore park, waterside - Port Stephens

Next to Anna bay in Port Stephens,Tucked away and a place that locals treasure, the iris moore park at the water side. Be amazed by this view over the ocean, beautiful red rocks reach out of this turquoise water, and make little rock pools with low tide to swim in. An incredible spot to watch the sunrise, and definitely one of our favorites so far. 

The farm beach - Killalea reserve - Shellharbour

The farm beach, known for it’s good waves and loved by many surfers. A beautiful beach situated in the Killalea national park. Very loved by the locals and an amazing spot to spend the day. Enjoy watching the surfers and get in for a refreshing swim yourself.

‘Guinness book of records whitest sand’

Hyams beach - Jervis bay

The famous Hyams beach is a quiet side town in the Jervis bay region of the south coast NSW, just 180 km south of Sydney. The Guinness book of records reports that Hyams beach has the whitest sand in the world, with fine and soft sand. Crystal clear waters make this beach even more beautiful. A definitely must see when your visiting Jervis bay.

Beares beach - Bermagui

At the Sapphire coast in NSW you will find a lot of unexpected amazing beaches, that are normally not that busy or touristic. Beares beach is a small beach with yellow sand and little caves to explore, quiet and beautiful situated in Bermagui, one of our favorite sunrise spots. A magical beach with cool clear water. Definitely worth a visit!
